In 1995, the average PACE enrollee was 80.0 years old and had an average of 7.8 medical conditions and 2.7 dependencies in Activities of Daily Living. PACE participants are ethnically diverse. To enroll in PACE, a person must be 55 years of age or older, be certified by the state as eligible for care in a nursing home and live in the program's defined geographical catchment area. Held in May and June 2019, the workshop series included a live webinar, which was recorded to allow for future viewing. Sarasota County hosted three workshops on financing energy and hurricane improvements for your property, using tools like PACE. Property owners should also ask detailed questions of your PACE providers so that you have the best understanding as to your best financing option. It is strongly recommended to receive multiple quotes from contractors on both the improvements and the financing. Like any financing, PACE comes with significant risks that must be understood fully before entering into any agreement. Currently, there are four approved PACE providers in Sarasota County, as listed in the table below. The Sarasota County Commission adopted an ordinance setting the framework for a PACE program, and signed agreements with four PACE providers. PACE home improvements include rooftop solar panels, solar water heater, energy efficient air conditioning unit, cool roof, impact windows, insulation, and more. Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) is a tool for property owners to finance private property improvements related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and hurricane hardening through assessments levied on their property tax bill by special districts established for that purpose.
